Reset the administrator password

Reset the Elasticsearch administrator password after receiving the Your deployment is ready notification.

Password reset is performed through the iVedha AI chat application:

https://copilot.opsflw.io

The new password is generated automatically and displayed only once.

Reset the password

  1. Sign in to the iVedha AI chat application.
  2. Select or identify the deployment you want to manage.
  3. Request an Elasticsearch administrator password reset.
  4. Request the verification code when prompted.
  5. A one-time password (OTP) is sent to the delivery address mapped to your authorized account, or to the account address when no delivery address is configured.
  6. Enter the OTP in the chat when prompted.
  7. Confirm the password reset.
  8. Wait for the reset operation to complete.
  9. The newly generated administrator password is displayed once.

Save the password immediately in your organization's approved password or secrets-management system.

The delivery address receives the OTP but cannot authorize the request. Sign in and request the reset with the configured account address. See Support contacts for the mapping format.

Warning

The generated password is shown only once and cannot be retrieved later. If it is lost, run the password-reset process again to generate a new one.

Allow time for synchronization

After the reset completes, allow a few minutes for the new credential to synchronize across the platform before testing it.

If authentication fails immediately after the reset, wait a few minutes and try again before starting troubleshooting.

Verify the password

After network, DNS, and TLS access is available, verify the new credential against the Elasticsearch endpoint.

curl --fail-with-body --user "<administrator-user>" \
  "https://<elasticsearch-hostname>/"

Enter the generated password when prompted.

A successful request returns the Elasticsearch product response.

If authentication still fails after allowing time for synchronization, confirm:

  • the password reset completed successfully;
  • the correct administrator username is being used;
  • the correct Elasticsearch endpoint is being used;
  • network, DNS, and TLS configuration is complete.

Protect the administrator account

Use the administrator credential only for initial setup, recovery, and tasks that require elevated access.

For normal administration and application access, create named users, roles, or API keys with the minimum required privileges.

Continue with configure networking.
